Nine need the hosted edition because the IRS hasn't published a portal template for them yet: 1097-BTC, 1098-C, 1098-F, 1098-Q, 1098-VLI, 1099-DA, 1099-LPS, 1099-LTC and 5498-TA.
Electronic filing
Returns go to the IRS electronically and come back with an acknowledgement and a receipt ID for your records. No mailing, no Form 1096.
Payee statements
Recipient copies as print-ready PDFs that follow the IRS rules for substitute statements, with the payee's TIN truncated on the copy that travels by post.
TIN matching
Check a payee's name and taxpayer identification number against IRS records before you file, rather than finding out in a penalty notice.
Corrections
Got a number wrong, or the IRS rejected a record? File a correction against the original without rebuilding the batch by hand.
Combined Federal/State Filing
For participating states, one filing covers both. The state copy goes out with the federal one instead of being a second job.
Import what you have
Bring payees in from a spreadsheet, check them over, and keep them for next year. Last season's list is the starting point for this one.
How it works
Four steps, and the last one is waiting for an email.
-
Add your payees
Type them in or import a spreadsheet. Names, addresses and TINs are checked as you go.
-
Enter the amounts
One form per payee, laid out like the paper form so you can check it against your books.
-
Review and file
Every return is validated before it leaves. What the IRS would reject, you see first.
-
Get the acknowledgement
We email you what the IRS said — accepted, or exactly which record needs fixing.
Two ways to run it
The same software either way. The difference is who holds the filing credentials and where the data lives.
We file for you
Sign in and work in the browser. Filing goes through our transmitter credentials, so there is nothing to register with the IRS and nothing to install.
- Nothing to install or maintain
- No IRS transmitter application to file
- Invite the rest of your team
- Your data stays in your own workspace
You file, under your own credentials
Runs on your own machine against a local database. It prepares the filing and you upload it to the IRS yourself, under your own Transmitter Control Code.
- Data never leaves your computer
- Files under your own TCC
- One license, no per-user sign-in
- For firms that already have IRIS access
Pricing
Pay for the returns you file. Nothing monthly, nothing to cancel.
